Working as a Network Manager and ICT Trainer provided a deep understanding of how schools operate on a day-to-day basis: the pressures on staff, the importance of clear communication, and the essential role that technology plays in teaching, learning, and administration.
Training staff in web development, Microsoft tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Publisher, as well as interactive whiteboards, created a strong insight into how to present information clearly, engage different audiences, and support staff of all confidence levels.
Strategic Marketing & Branding Shift
Over time, this technical focus evolved into a more strategic and creative direction. Stepping into roles such as Marketing and Communications Manager and Data Protection Officer made it possible to combine an understanding of school life with a passion for storytelling, branding, and clear, compliant communication. This blend is particularly powerful in education, where every message must be both engaging and responsible, especially when working under frameworks such as UK GDPR

Extensive experience working for a large Multi Academy Trust with over 30 schools, including primary, secondary, and special schools, has provided a broad perspective on the unique needs of different educational settings. From small primaries serving tight-knit communities to complex secondary and special school environments, the work has involved developing trust-wide messaging, aligning visual and verbal identity, and supporting individual schools to express their own character while staying true to the overarching brand.

This background includes developing and supporting marketing strategies aimed at increasing pupil numbers and attracting high-quality staff.
That has meant working closely with leaders and school teams to understand what makes each school unique, and then translating that into compelling campaigns, websites, prospectuses, social media content, internal communications, and targeted parent communications. The focus is always on telling authentic stories, showcasing real pupils, staff, achievements, and values in a way that resonates with parents, carers, stakeholders, and local communities.
Digital Design & Web Expertise
Alongside marketing and branding, there has been significant involvement in digital design and web development.
Crafting intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging school websites has been a core part of the work, ensuring that information is easy to find, that the school’s brand is clearly expressed, and that content remains fresh and relevant for parents and families.
